The Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Shehbaz Sharif has issued a stern directive. To all law enforcement agencies to prohibit the use of Automotives larger than 1800cc vehicles. According to a media site, the premier’s order is a component of the government’s austerity drive. To lessen the strain on the state budget and boost the economy.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also instructed. that the officers are not allowed to use Sedans and SUVs with larger than 1800cc engines. In this regard, the Cabinet division officially issues notice to FIA, Custom intelligence, Customs, and, Police.
Ban on new Car Purchasing:
The Federal Government has also implemented a 16-monthly ban on the purchasing of new vehicles as it is a part of their austerity plan. The implementation will start its effect earlier this month.
A circular informing is issued to all ministries and divisions from the Prime Minister’s office (PMO) the ban will remain until June 2024. However, the Foreign Ministry and Diplomatic missions are exempt from the particular regulation. Moreover, they stated that the measure is only restricted to the federal government.
