Overview

Motorbike travelers get another favor from the incumbent Punjab caretaker government. The strictness for without helmet drivers lift and they get relief. The caretaker government has taken several positive steps towards awareness for safe traveling. They have measured different steps to control illegal and license-less drivers. Punjab Traffic Police actively work on traffic violations and strictly go against the rule violators.

Previously, the Chief Minister removed the FIR restriction on expired licenses and international driving licenses. And now another announcement has come to make motorists happy. They lift FIR restrictions for motorists without helmets. They have suggested new ways to create awareness against precautions and increase fines.

Rules and huge fines have made significant improvements in road traffic and CTP records a significant reduction in road accidents.

Lahore High Court Decision

During the hearing of a petition related to smog, the Lahore High Court announced No FIR for without helmet drivers. Justice Shahid Karim suggests that the FIR is severe for no-helmet drivers. Increasing the fine for helmet violations would be a good way to increase awareness.

As per the report of the Senior Superintend of Police, they had registered more than 26,000 FIRs against helmet violations.

Helmet violation is a big rise in road accidents leading to death. Punjab Police has done great work on this project and controlled the huge number of helmet violations. They use different ways including increasing fines to make helmets compulsory for motorbike drivers.

Conclusion

The new extension is announced to not put citizens in severe condition. The increasing number of FIRs doesn’t make good sense. Meanwhile, increasing fines will cause the citizens to follow the rules. On the other side, the Chief Minister has also extended the deadline for annual driving license fees. Multiple favors have been announced to encourage citizens and give them a chance to get a license and drive under the traffic rules. Don’t get yourself in trouble and follow the traffic rules to not disturb you with punishments and high fines.
