Ensure that the remote starter you choose for installation will be according to your vehicle’s makes and model. After that read the box and be in contact with the manufacturer to identify whether it is compatible with my vehicle or not. You will require a starter that is compatible with your anti-theft system and it will be secure. If you don’t have a starter that is compatible with the anti-theft system then you need to buy anti-theft modules which will cost you additionally more.

2. Read the instruction carefully:

Read the instruction carefully

The installation instructions will depend on the different brands and models of the remote starter. That way, it is important to read the instructions for the installation carefully. You need to find the wiring diagram that will help you in the starter.

3. Read the owner guide:

Now you need to read the guide of the owner which are repair and manual for your vehicle so that you will get familiar with the wires. There are a few standard wire connections which include: power and accessory controls, ignition, start, security and alarm setting, and radio or power locks.

4. Pickup the tools that you will need:

Pick up the tools

You need to consult your manuals to identify the tools that you need for your specific remote starter and the vehicle. Maybe you will need a utility knife, wire strippers, wire cutters, a digital multimeter, electrical tape, and screwdrivers. We will recommend you a digital multimeter for testing after and before the installation.

  • There are a few starters that will come up with all the important tools so you need to check your box. For instance, many systems come up with an LED Circuit tester to find the important wires for the installation.
  • We will recommend that you will join all the wires together to make better connections. If you choose to solder you will require safety glasses and soldering iron.

5. Where to put the main module?

Now you need to decide where you will put the main module and then open the area. It will be secure and the hidden location will not need to be extended to the supplied wires. The position will be inside the lower dash and it will be underneath the steering wheel. In this way, you can connect directly to the ignition wiring.

  • Make sure that you don’t need to place it in the engine compartment or any specific area where it will be exposed to extreme vibration or heat.
  • The possible alternative position of placing it will include: spaces that are above the radio or glove compartment and the center console will be above the dashboard fuse box.

6. Cover the car:

In this step, you need to cover the car and then ensure that everything will be working properly before the installation. For that, check the lights, batteries, switches, and other systems. If there is an electrical system that is not working exactly then you should fix them and get it before the beginning of your installation.

7. Remote the seat:

In this step, you need to remove the seat on where the module will be installed. It will give you more space to work during the installation of the system. If you can’t remove it then simply slide the chair backward.

8. Disconnect the Battery:

1. Remove the panel:

In the second part step now you need to remove the panel which covers the steering wheel by using a screwdriver underside of the steering column. Then you will get access to the wires that are used to connect the remote starter.

  • If the panel will not be attached to the screws then maybe you require a socket set to eliminate the nuts that screw the panel.
  • Depending on your vehicle maybe you require to remove the lower steering column which covers the access of the ignition switch harness. You will remove this cover if your vehicle has anti-theft systems.
  • If you decide to connect the remote starter to other functions like the door locks, and the overhead lights then you will require to remove the kick panel also. It is located on the lower left-hand corner of the driver’s foot box.

2. Connect all the wires properly:

It is necessary that you connect all the wires safely and loose wires will cause major injury to you and damage your property. It is better to join all the connections to make sure that you are strong enough.

3. Connect the round Wire:

Now in this step, you need to cover the ground wire because it is part of the starter and it is frequently black. Connect ground wire through screwing and the ring terminal will be clean then. And the metal surface which is not painted will be in the kick panel area. The wire is very important for the exact functioning of the vehicle.

4. 12V Constant wire on vehicle:

A 12V Constant wire is that one which will attach to the battery and it will probably be found in the bunch of wires that are attached to the ignition switch. You can place this wire by reading the car manual and repair guide or test with the multimeter.

5. Attach the accessory wire:

The accessory wires supplies provide power to heat and air conditioning which control and supply the 12V when the key is in the accessory position. After that attach the accessory wires on the starter to the accessory wires on the car.

6. Connect the ignition wire:

The ignition wire will supply power to the ignition system and fuel pump so that it will be attached to the ignition switch that is located under the steering wheel. The car manual and repair guide will tell you the color of the wire. Now join this wire to the remote starter’s ignition output.

7. Locate and attach the starter wire:

After attaching the starter wire it will show you the voltage during which the vehicle is will crank or turn in. It will supply power to the starter that will solenoid when you turn your car on.

8. Connect the brake wires and parking lights:

You will find the brake wire at the switch harness which will be above the brake pedal. But it will also be found with the parking light wires in the kick panel which will be on the way to the rear of the vehicle. Now you need to connect all these wires to the parking light and then the brake output on the remote starter.

9. Connect the Tachometer wire to the tachometer output wire:

This will be needed by the remote starter so that it will disconnect the starter once the car will started. Most probably it will be found in the coil pack or the engine distributor.

10. Connect any anti-theft, security, or any other optional components:

There are such systems that might have a few additional steps for connecting to the door locks of the car. The other systems might have additional steps to connect with the door locks of the vehicle. The other systems might require a special system for getting around the anti-theft system that will exist in your vehicle.

11. Connect additional wires by using the relay:

A relay will allows the various wires to get connected. There are many multiple designs in sizes and shapes but they all perform a similar basic function. Now connect these wires to the relay by covering them around to the pins.

12. Connect the battery:

In this step, you need to connect the battery so that you analyze whether all the functions are working properly or not. For this, test your remote start and the keyless entry system. Plus, you need to test your brake lights and brakes to ensure that everything is connected properly and it will be working correctly. If something didn’t work and fails then go back and check all the wires that you connected before. Analyze what went wrong and why they didn’t work.

13. Replace the kick panel:
