Meanwhile, automakers ask for 2 years to switch euro 2 into euro 5. The popular Japanese automaker has written a letter to secretary Industries and production in which they show their concerns related to switching euro2 in Pakistan. Under the SRO 72(KE) 16 May 2009 Pakistan regulatory emission requirements are equivalent to euro 2 which needs time of 2 years to switch euro 2 into euro 5 in Pakistan.
However, they said automakers are standing with Committee to develop Pakistan automotive industry. We understand the need for euro 5 in Pakistan but we need time to change the regulatory emission for vehicles. We shall provide our full support to this mission.
Although the other countries already move to euro 5 and euro 6 and Pakistan is still on the euro 2. There are so many bugs in the development of the auto sector. As we haven’t moved to electric vehicles while this trend is going to common in the international market.
