Engine

BMW X3 sDrive30i and xDrive30i

The basic sDrive30i and xDrive30i are powered by 2.0Liter turbocharged engines. This engine produces 248 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. This engine is transferred to the rear wheels via 8-speed automatic transmission in sDrive30i and power is transferred to all wheels in xDrive30i with the help of the same transmission. The sDrive30i has a fuel average of 9.78 km/l in the city and 12.33 km/l on the highway and it has an average mileage of 10.63 km/l on both highways and within the city.  The xDrive30i gives a fuel average of 8.93 km/l in the city and 11.9 km/l on the highway and it has an average mileage of 10.2 km/l on both highways and within the city.

Both sDrive30i and xDrive30i take 6 seconds to gain a speed of 60 mph from 0 mph.

BMW X3 M40i

The next updated engine option comes in the NEW BMW X3 M40i. it is powered with a 3.0 Liter turbocharged inline-six Cylinder engine. It produces a power of 382 hp and it gives a torque of 492.87 Nm. The new BMW X3 has a 48-volt mild-hybrid system but it only comes in a six-cylinder model. This function gives it an extra 11 hp which helps it to get more acceleration and a quick start. It comes with a standard all-wheel drivetrain system and has a fuel average of 8.93 km/l in the city, 11 km/l on the highway, and average mileage of 9.78 km/l on both highway and city drive. It takes 4.4 seconds for 0-60 mph.

BMW X3 M

If someone has a hunger for power, then BMW X3 is offering the other variant which is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine but it is more upgraded than the engine of M40i. it gives a power output of 473 hp and produces a torque of 620 Nm. It gives a 0-60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. It is 17Nm more power and 0.2 seconds quicker than that of the 2021 X3 M model.

If this power is also not enough then you can have a top-of-the-line variant of the BMW X3 M model. It contains a power of 503 horses and gives a torque of 650Nm. It can go from 0-60 in just 3.7 seconds.

The M model is containing a four-wheel drivetrain system and has a fuel average of 6.38 km/l in the city and 8.5 km/l on the highway and average mileage of 7.28 on the highway and within the city.

How is the drive?

The X3 overall is very pleasant and smooth to drive and it also gives a feeling of luxury when traveling in it. The 30i variants don’t give a sportier feeling than the M models but it gives an amazing, smooth, and undisturbed driving experience. The M models give the excellent experience which someone is expecting from the BMW.

Those models which come with sports suspension options including the M40i give a different experience in the city. Because if someone drives more in the area with bumpy roads, then he may get tired while traveling in it. But the M models are more comfortable in this case because they have adaptive suspension and while driving you may change the driving mode to change the rigidity of its suspension.

The adaptive cruise control is not such impressive but this deficiency can be covered with its semi-autonomous traffic jam mode.
