The biometric verification method will be reactivated for motorbike registration, new vehicle registration, and the transfer of existing cars by the Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control (ET&NC) Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DG Excise<\/strong> Circular on Biometric<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In an official circular, Director General Excise announced that starting on Monday, January 23, 2023. All vehicle registration and transfers would only be handle by the biometric system, and manual registration transfers will discontinue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Punjab Biometric Relaxing Due to Auto Dealers’ Request<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Due to complaints from auto dealers who objected to the biometric system’s sudden deployment, the department temporarily stopped the biometric system for two months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The merchants claimed to have thousands of new imported cars<\/a><\/strong> on display. They ask for at least two months for the transfer of sale, and ET&NC agreed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
