<\/figure>\n\n\n\nAccording to a statement issued by the Finance Division on Saturday, the current Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif rejected the request of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and decided against the hike in petroleum products prices. Prime Minister instructed that petroleum product prices remain unchanged in order to avoid burdening people with price increases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The federal finance minister said that despite the recommendation, Prime Minister was reluctant to overburden the people by raising petrol prices. It’s not mean that we’ll never raise prices. The idea is that we are not going to increase them today. He added that he will speak with the IMF to establish a common ground and that the talks will be successful. The minister did clarify, however, that fuel rates could be altered at any point in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/figure>\n\n\n\nThe Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority had requested to hike the price of petrol by 21.30 per liter an increase of 14.2%, Kerosene by 36.03 per liter an increase of 28.7%, and HSD increased by 35.7% to Rs. 51.32 per liter, and Light Diesel Oil (LDO) by 38.89 per liter, which was a 39.9% increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
