As automakers Start to replace combustion-engine vehicles with extremely quick models that operate on rechargeable Lithium-Ion EVs as federal regulators attempt to clamp down on carbon pollution, Electric vehicles’ purchasing costs are starting to become more on par with Internal Combustion engine vehicles. This is particularly the case in Europe, where taxes and fees on traditional automobiles with gasoline engines are rising. Lithium-Ion EVs are significantly much less expensive than ICE-powered vehicles. For instance, in Norway, a Porsche Taycan an electric car cost around half as much as a Panamera.
According To Vice President Honda America:

Dave Gardner, the vice president of business and sales for Honda in America, recently questioned on the subject. So why do entry-level EVs still cost more than their equivalents with combustion engines?
He offered the following response, in our opinion the existing lithium-ion technology isn’t the best long-term solution, Solid-State batteries are going to be the game changer for us.
Dave Gardner predicts that entry-level EVs will priced in the same of a reasonable internal combustion engine vehicle, thanks to advances in solid-state batteries. However, he admitted that solid-state batteries are still a way off and will not used by the company on the next Prologue crossover. Saying it committed to the effort, Honda just announced a $310 million investment in the development of solid-state batteries.
Honda’s First Mass-Production E City Car:

E city car is the first mass-production Electric Vehicle Honda, but the car has not seen a big success from a sales standpoint. Despite target sales of around 10,000 units, only 3,752 units of E city car have sold in Europe last year. While the Honda E has received a lot of praise for its funky retro-inspired design and tech-laden interior, its poor range of just 210 km and €30k+ price tag has criticism from many people. Furthermore, Honda will be hoping that the upcoming Prologue electric crossover would sell better, even if it is more expensive for buyers than a CRV with a comparable feature set.
