A French multinational automobile manufacturer Renault has planned to discontinue its well-known high performance hatchback the Megane RS in 2023. It the last sporty hatchback still offered by the French brand likely to produced until 2023. Even though it hasn’t formally announced, a Renault representative broke the news. It appears that the Megane RS will no longer manufactured after 2023.

The 4th generation Renault Megane serves as the foundation for the current generation Megane RS, which debuted in September 2017. The Megane RS must, however, the Megane RS face the EV takeover like many other vehicles with internal combustion engines (ICE). Almost all car manufacturers have joined the EV bandwagon and added one or more electric vehicles to their inventory.
Discontinuation Of The Renault Megane RS:

A representative from Renault claims that the Megane RS is to discontinued because there is less of a market for high-performance Internal Combustion Engine cars in this segment. He stated the production of Megane RS will end next year. Although The company doesn’t yet announce the exact time when production will stop, it won’t go on past the end of 2023 from a production perspective.
As the Megane RS was a sporty hatchback, it was always a niche model, but now demand for the hot hatch is dropping in Europe. It can replaced by an electric car. The Renault representative stated that after the Megane E-Tech debuts at the end of the next year, the RS will no longer be produced.
Renault Megane E-Tech:

The Renault Megane E-Tech will replace the Megane RS, adopting a crossover stance with an all-electric powertrain. To match the Megane RS’s performance and power, Renault will also develop a more powerful Megane E-Tech model. The most potent electric Megane available right now offers 218 horsepower 160 kW and 300 Nm, with a 0 to 100 km/h time of roughly 7.4 seconds.
