Toyota saying goodbye to its most luxurious sedan Toyota Camry. Toyota Camry retiring after 43 years. Toyota Japan has discontinued the production of the Camry in Japan due to the huge decline in sales. The company has not received a fruitful response from Camry sales in recent years.
According to the report Toyota has only sold 6,000 units of Camry in 2022. Although Toyota Camry is a very luxurious car it is the most expensive one also. Toyota Camry has spent a great journey in the automotive industry and gained huge customers in the mid-cycle. But the recent year Toyota observing a huge decline in sale year by year.
Why Toyota Discontinued Camry
The low sale volume of recent years forced the company to stop the production of the Camry. Nikkei Asia Dealerships in Japan have stopped taking bookings for Camry. But Toyota has only planned this for its home market. meanwhile, Toyota Camry will work internationally. The car price is equivalent to Pakistani Rs. 7.6 and Rs. 10. 2 million. However, it is not huge for Japan but the launch of a different luxury car might cause low customer attention to Camry.
Toyota Camry is also manufactured in different countries United States, China, and Thailand and it will continue working in the international market. Toyota will continue the production of the car in its hometown but only for export purposes.
Toyota Camry was launched in 1980 and the company has sold a total of 1.3 million units of the car in the country. The international market has also a super craze for cars and sold in more than 100 countries including Pakistan. For the Pakistani market Camry is one of the best luxury cars available at a very high price because of customs duty. As per the report Toyota has sold 21 million units of Camry worldwide.
The other main reason for the sedan’s sale decline is customers are moving to minivans and SUVs. The recent years have increased the demand for SUVs and sedans are not receiving much attention.
