Traffic Violation Fines Increased By 200% On All Highways

Overview

Authorities took strict actions against the violation of traffic rules. After increasing the fee for driving licenses there is another jump in rates. National Highway and Motorway Police have increased traffic violation fines for all motorways and highways in Pakistan.

Previously, authorities have announced a fine increased for the motorway and implemented it from 1st October 2023. As per the early notice highways fine is also increased by 200% from January 2024. Traffic violations are no longer adjustable and easy in Pakistan. the recent back-to-back serious road accidents and loss of lives caught the attention of authorities to make strict rules for everyone. It is mandatory to make equal rules for everyone and important for the safety of citizens.

Traffic Violation Fines On Motorways and Highways

The revised rates are enough to aware citizens to follow the rules and keep driving under the protection. There are seven rules announced by the Traffic Police:

  • The wrong driving fine is now Rs. 1500 instead of Rs. 300.
  • The fine for over-speeding is increased from Rs. 750 to Rs. 2500.
  • License-less drivers will pay a fine of Rs. 5000 instead of Rs. 750.
  • Non-function or broken headlights vehicles will pay a fine of Rs. 5000 against the old fine of Rs. 500.
  • In case of rash and careless driving fine will be charged Rs. 1500 compared to the old fine of Rs. 300.
  • Fancy number plate drivers are under a fine of Rs. 1000 and HID headlights vehicle drivers will pay a fine of R. 2000.
  • Driving a non-registration vehicle will make you pay Rs. 2000 fine.

The fine announcement of 1st October 2023 covers cars and jeeps only on all motorways and now in the second phase traffic police include highways in the fine increased settlement. The Highways drivers should be aware of the new fine payment to avoid violation of traffic rules.

Conclusion

The traffic violation is not compromised because it causes lives lost. The increasing number of road accident deaths can be controlled with the increase in fines. Meanwhile, traffic police do not allow anyone to break to rules of traffic. The imposition of new increased fines is to ensure there is nobody violates the rules.
