The capital Territory Police (CTP) traffic division in Islamabad has cited 8,778 motorists for failing to use a seat belt and 7,668 for texting and driving.
The inspector of General Police Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has ordered a special complaint to curb such violations. Different squads led by Syed Mustafa Tanveer who is the Chief Traffic Police Officer (CTO) are monitoring the city’s major roads and they are enforcing strict penalties against the lawbreakers.
The Police stated in the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP). That a campaign is underway to ensure a disciplined traffic system in the city.
He added that the citizens are being advised to adhere to the traffic rules to maintain vehicular discipline. Moreover, he stated that the police personnel will ensure the enforcement of traffic rules regardless of status and rank. The Police force issues tickets not as a punitive measure. They have to ensure a safe road environment for people in the capital and protect their lives.
