Toyota Pakistan is the first time introducing Yaris in Pakistan local auto market. The company has a plan to officially launch this car on 27th March 2020 but because of the lockdown, the launching is a delay. Toyota replaces the Corolla 1.3 variants with Yaris and it is more attractive and good as compared to the Corolla. Company has to introduce Yaris in six variants:
- Toyota Yaris 1.3L GLi ATIV MT
- Toyota Yaris 1.3L GLi ATIV CVT
- Toyota Yaris 1.3L GLi MT
- Toyota Yaris 1.3L GLi CVT
- Toyota Yaris 1.5L ATIV X MT
- Toyota Yaris 1.5L ATIV X CVT
Today we are going to compare Toyota Yaris 1.3L GLi CVT with its biggest competitor car Honda City I-VTEC 1.3L Prosmatec. Honda City is the most demanded car in Pakistan’s local auto market because of its performance and soft style.
Engine Power & Brakes:
Toyota Yaris
The Yaris GLi CVT is equipped with dual VVT-I 1329 cc 1NR-FE 4-cylinder in-line 16-valve DOHC with sequential multi-port fuel injection (SFI) system. Its 1.3 cc engine can produce a maximum output of 98hp @ 6000 rpm and maximum torque of 123 Nm @ 4200 rpm and its 7-speed CVT car. The braking and suspension of the car are also unique its front wheels have ventilated disc brakes and at the rear side, it has drum brakes. To make this model different from other Toyota has provided an advance Brake Assist system in the car. When we see the suspension system of the Yaris 1.3L GLi CVT it’s also surprising because its front suspension equipped with MacPherson Strut and its rear suspension is equipped with a torsion beam.
Honda City
On the other hand, Honda City is also good in its engine it is powered with I-VTEC 1339 cc SOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder with Electronic Fuel Injection System. It can produce a maximum output of 100hp @ 6000 rpm and maximum torque of 128 Nm @ 4800 rpm. It is equipped with 5-speed automatic transmission. Its front wheels are equipped with a disc braking system and the rear side has drum brakes. Honda City has MacPherson Strut Suspension with Stabilizer at front wheels and a torsion beam with stabilizer in the rear side.

Toyota Yaris is similar to Corolla it’s just like the company has redesign Corolla with some elegant design touches up with modern style. Here are the good and unique and touch up of Yaris:
- It has a 4-beam halogen lamp headlight
- It is has a Pigmented front radiator grill
- Body-colored door handles
- Body-colored side view mirrors with integrating side turn signal
- It has Windshield with green lamination

Honda City I-VTEC 1.3L Prosmatec is the facelift version of Honda City and its design is a soft touchline. The front grill is black that looks elegant in the facelift version.
