Toyota made a mark at the stage of Tokyo Motor Show with a collection of revolutionary concepts. One of them is the gallant Tj Cruiser. Toyota asserts that the Tj Cruiser Concept has the reasonableness and practical aspects of a cargo van and the posture of an SUV.

The ‘T’ in Tj Cruiser is abbreviated as the ‘Toolbox’ in accordance with how the car can be driven like a toolbox, at the same time as the ‘j’ is for the‘joy’ that is the indication to the joy of visiting a variety of places by car, while the ‘Cruiser’ is conventionally used by Toyota for its SUV line-up.

The Tj is a boxy vehicle with a square-ish cab whereas the elevated suspension with the bulky SUV tires lends it an athletic stance. The Tj Cruiser denotes a new genre integrating the strengths of a van with those of an SUV, as uttered by the Japanese car maker.

The cabin is roomy enough for four passengers. The passenger seat can be tilt back totally flat and can house items of up to three meters in length. The back of the seats and deck boards takes in plentiful tie-down points.

It allows simple anchoring of items from small packages to longer objects providing it a cargo van’s practicality. The back door is big enough for easy loading/unloading of large objects. The car in addition features sliding doors for relaxed entrance & exit.

The Tj Cruiser is found on Toyota’s flexible TNGA platform. The car is motorized by a 2.0-litre petrol engine in combination with a hybrid powertrain.

It comes equipped with a front-wheel-drive as standard & an elective four-wheel drive too.
