The Motor Co, Toyota has recently released a teaser on their Social media account. Hinting about the upcoming launch of their new truck Toyota Tacoma in the United States. Although! there isn’t much to be deduced from the teaser. It does reveal that the car is a truck, and rumors have it that it might be a Toyota Tacoma.
The Current version of the Automotive has been in the market since 2015. And the truck is known for a significant overhaul. The patent drawing filed in Brazil has already given a glimpse of the upcoming beautiful and sleek design.
Toyota Tacoma Features:
By revealing that the new truck will draw inspiration from the bigger Toyota Tundra that hits the market in 2022. The Patent design shows that the Tacoma will feature a squared nose and small slats under the headlights. The shape of the Grille is more enclosed. Then the one on Toyota Tundra, but the rugged look remains the same.
Moreover, both of the vehicles will have fog lights in the bumper, but the new truck features triangular air inlets on the fender flares that Tundra does not have.
There are rumors that the new Tacoma will have the same TNGA-F platform as Tundra and other big Toyota vehicles. The platform will help Tacoma to retain its body on frame construction, and it is speculated that it will be available with hybrid-assisted 2.4 liters four-cylinder engines. The same engine is currently being used in Lexus RX 500h and in Toyota Crown. In these vehicles, the engine produces up to 366 Horsepower (371 PS).
Improvements in Engine:
The sign of the improvement over the current Tacoma’s powertrain features a naturally aspirated 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine with only 159 Horsepower and a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 278 Horsepower without turbo.
The new engine is expected to provide better performance and better fuel efficiency. There are also rumors that the Motor Co, Toyota will offer a stack of TRD, s tuning goodies to personalize the trucks.
