Toyota closed its production plant in Pakistan due to the decline in demand and sale. The company has mentioned that due to the lockdown by the government and coronavirus crisis the sale of its vehicle badly. The company has not started its production.
Their production plant has closed for the last 3 weeks. After the lockdown, Toyota has closed all its dealership stores in Pakistan and closed its cars booking. Currently, the lockdown almost imposed all over the world and it badly affects the supply chain of Toyota cars. Toyota Pakistan has also gained the prices of its vehicles in Pakistan. In which the newly come Yaris is also affected. The company has increased its prices because of the devaluation rupee value against the dollar.

The devaluation of rupee value impacts the cost of auto parts and the cost of the vehicle. Here is the official statement by Toyota Pakistan:
Due to the international economic conditions and the fluctuation in the FOREX index, regretfully the prices of our products and vehicle range are being revised. The new prices will not affect any full payments made however if a customer requires a refund, they may approach our Customer Assistance Center (CAC) which will process a complete refund without any penalties or deductions.
Furthermore, he said that the government has not allowed the automotive sector to restart production. Before the green signal of government, we can’t open the production plant. Although it’s a very tough situation be patient for the right time.

The closed production plants always a red sign for the automakers. Previously companies closed their production plants due to the decline in the sale. This time they are restricted by the government to do not start work.
