According to the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association, The Toyota Hilux and Fortuner have outperformed the Suzuki Alto in terms of sales for the second executive month. In February, the Toyota Hilux and Fortuner sold a combined 2007 units; while on the other hand, the Alto sold only 1,384 units.
Both of the vehicles are well known for their durability and reliability; making them ideal vehicles for Pakistani roads.
The Hilux is particularly a popular choice for commercial purposes such as transportation and construction.
The Toyota Fortuner is a family-friendly SUC that can easily handle off-roading. The baseline model of the Fortuner 2023 Price in Pakistan costs 14,230,000 PKR. The base variant of the Toyota Hilux costs 12,969,000 PKR.
In the meanwhile, The Suzuki Alto has been a mainstay in the Pakistani car market due to its affordability. The major reason behind this decrease in sales was supposed to be a hike in car prices and a decrease in purchasing power.
But the figures reveal that the superiors are still able to get luxury vehicles. Although! The mid-range vehicles like Toyota Alto are usually bought by the middle class. Mostly those who had lost their purchasing power in the Inflation.
The overall pandemic situation of Covid-19 has had a significant impact on the car industry, with production and sales taking a hit. Besides all that, The Toyota Hilux and Toyota Fortuner have managed to maintain their popularity among Pakistani consumers.
