Indus Motor come forward to deny all the fake rumors about Toyota leaving Pakistan. A piece of news circulating on social media for a couple of days that IMC shut down its operations in Pakistan permanently. IMC come forward with an official statement that Toyota is staying in Pakistan.
Toyota Pakistan is one of the leading car manufacturing industries in Pakistan. Recently, they presented the first locally assembled electric crossover to PM, Shehbaz Sharif. It shows the company operation going in a smooth way. But after a day presented Electric Crossover company announced a plant shutdown for the next few days. but it is a temporary shutdown decision.
It’s a reminder call that Shell is leaving Pakistan and they have sent a notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) regarding their plan.
Toyota Statement Regarding Fake Rumors
Toyota finally denied all the fake news and confirm their still existence in Pakistan. according to the report, the shutdown is temporary due to the non-availability of stock. the operations are closed temporarily but not permanently. They added that delay in LCs approval makes troubles in smooth operations and supply. This is why operations are closed till 8 July 2023.
While with the media talk, the CEO of Indus Motor Corporation (IMC) Ali Asghar Jamali said Toyota is planning to introduce new models in Pakistan. The company’s aim is to offer hybrid models which significantly reduce carbon emissions and run as environment-friendly vehicles.
He further said, hybrid SUVs reduce dependency on traditional petrol and make good impacts on the environment. The first locally assembled SUV designed to reduce 35% carbon emission, he said. Delays in LCs approval and import restrictions made some troubles in operation. But the company will resume production after the shutdown.
However, the first locally assembled crossover SUV is still a question a Toyota Corolla Cross or any other model?

Toyota invest a huge amount in Pakistan to make locally assembled hybrid car production possible. The current crisis and industry challenges made it difficult to achieve the target on time. But Toyota is still on its mission to enhance production in Pakistan and improve the company’s position. However, Toyota is already Pakistan’s largest auto manufacturer and plays a vital role in vehicle production.
