Overview
Despite the ongoing economic crisis Japanese locally assembled brand Toyota show an impressive sale record. Toyota Cars are the most favorite in Pakistan and are declared with a recent PAMA report. Toyota Pakistan has sold more units compared to the Pak Suzuki and Honda Atlas.
Honda Atlas carries a hard story of 2 months plant shutdown. The company has issued a notification to resume manufacturing after two months. As well Pak Suzuki carries a different story of sale slump.
However, the competition is still ongoing and every month different car makers won the game of selling more cars. It’s pertinent to mention here, despite the increase in MoM sale car makers faces a huge decline in sale on a YoY basis. And it is due to the current dwindling economic situation and rupee depreciation.
PAMA Cars Sale Report
As per the PAMA report, Pak Suzuki and Honda Atlas combined sold a total of 1,681 cars last month. Meanwhile, Toyota sold 1,948 vehicles last month. Toyota cars breaks the record of last month and compete Suzuki and Honda sale.
Honda Atlas reported a sale decline of 75% in the last months and sold only 207 units compared to the month of March they sold a total of 835 units. Honda sold 159 units of Honda City, and 48 units of Honda Civic, BR-V, and HR-V.
On the other side, Pak Suzuki witnessed a 74% sale decline in the last month. They sold 1,474 cars in the month of April 2023 and 5,682 cars in March 2023. Suzuki Sold a total of 820 units of Alto, 177 units of Cultus, 99 units of Suzuki Wagon R, 145 units of Swift, 163 units of Suzuki Bolan, and 70 units of Suzuki Ravi.
Meanwhile, Toyota cars has recorded a sale of 1,007 units of Toyota Corolla and Yaris, and 941 units of Fortuner and Hilux. Toyota saw a jump of 2% in sales.
Conclusion
The ongoing Pakistan political situation disturbs the overall businesses in the country. The huge increase in dollar value has made it more difficult for car makers to manage costs. Meanwhile, the delay in LCs approval is a big reason for low production and sale. Car makers suffer huge losses for a long time. The local automotive industry cannot move to any success in the current situation.
