Since Pakistan’s Prime Minister announced a move toward electric vehicles considering ecology and economic benefits for the country, electric vehicles have become a hot topic in Pakistan. Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (SEWL), the most popular three-wheeler market leader in Pakistan, has launched Pakistan’s first locally manufactured E-Rickshaw. The company has introduced a fully electric, Sazgar eVe Rikshaw for its customers to experience another level of comfort and speed with zero emissions.

According to the company’s claims that its goal is to offer economical, sustainable, comfortable, and environment-friendly means of transportation of international standards at affordable prices. The eVe will help its user reduce running costs and maintenance in these tough times. As per the detail, The EV will save around Rs. 226,800 per annum on fuel and Rs. 66,000 on maintenance.
Design and Features of Electric Rikshaw:
When it comes to its design and features, The Sazgar eVe Rikshaw has designed according to a modern aesthetic on the popular cultural version. It has a sleek dual-tone exterior design, a modern handlebar, and dual daytime running lamps (DRLs) that is gives it an innovative and appealing outlook.
Meanwhile, the interior has also appreciated modern design language to suit the user’s comfort which has designed according to the latest standards. The interior offers newly designed textured bench seats for the driver and passengers with a blue tone to enjoy driving pleasure in comfort and aesthetics and ambient lighting has also been installed to complement the design.
The Electric Rickshaw comes with an Automatic Gear Knob which allows drivers to switch between 3 primary driving modes that are reverse, neutral, and drive (R, N, D). The company has installed a digital odometer and a USB charging outlet that allows both the driver and passenger to charge their devices during the journey.
Specification and Charging capacity:
If we talk about the Sazgar eVe Rikshaw specification, it uses a 2-kWh motor with a 90 Ah (6.5kWh) Lithium-Ion battery pack. It comes with front and rear disc brakes and hydraulic shock absorption and leaf spring shocks absorbers.
The fully electric rikshaw battery has a fast-charging capacity. Sazgar claims that the AC chargers can just take 4 to 5 hours to completely charge the vehicle battery. The Sazgar eVe Rikshaw can travel up to 100 kilometers of maximum range on a complete single charge and the top speed of a rickshaw is 90 kilometers per hour.
