Renault, The French automobile manufacturing company,is planning to set up a factory in Pakistan with the help of Majid Al Futtaim, an Emirati Shopping mall company based in Dubai.They are soon planning to launch the Renault brand in Pakistan. Together both the companies have by now signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up a manufacturing plant in Pakistan.
Renault has been trying to come into the Pakistani market. With the two Pakistani companies, Dewan and Gandhara,they tried signing a deal but the negotiations didn’t go throughout. The pact was to build a factory in Pakistan, a subsidiary which will allow Renault to enter the market.
The company, After setting up a plant in an industrial area of Karachi, be going to have a manufacturing capacity of 50,000 vehicles. It strategizes to first assemble and market the 4×4 Duster SUVs, one of the greatest commercial successes of the French automaker.
Renault speculates an immense prospective in the Middle East and India region, where it plans to boost its sales volume to more than 800,000 units by the end of its 2022 strategic plan, compared with 491,000 last year.
