Overview
According to reports, after Petroleum Minister Dr. Musadik Malik issued a warning, Punjab Police recover 13 Lac’s liters of petrol from the petroleum mafia in illegal petrol and diesel storage in Sheikhupura, Patoki, Daska, and other parts of the province.
While announcing a crackdown on petrol smuggling in the country, IG Punjab ordered tough punishment against anyone found guilty. In compliance with the orders, police officers searched multiple gasoline stations in Sheikhupura and Patoki, recovering nearly 1.3 million gallons of ‘illegally’ stored petrol.
Petroleum Minister Gives Warning
In response to Petroleum Minister Dr. Musadik Malik’s warning. Punjab police initiated an investigation into persons involved in illegal petrol and diesel hoarding in numerous districts of the province, including Sheikhupura, Patoki, and Daska.
Musadik Malik, the minister of state for petroleum, denied any allegations that the country was running out of petroleum products. During a news conference in Islamabad, the state minister declared that Pakistan has enough supply of both fuel and gasoline.
He is warning people who were storing that the government would suspend their licenses if they were found to be intentionally generating a shortage of these things.
Punjab Police takes Action against Petrol Storage Mafia
In compliance with the instructions, police searched many filling stations in Sheikhupura and Patoki, recovering more than 1.3 million liters of petrol illegally stocked by mafias.
According to the District Police Officer, Zahid Marwat, the value of the recovered fuel exceeded 300 million rupees. He further said that anybody proven to be guilty of petroleum storage will face appropriate legal action. Including the filing of charges.
The minister also attempted to remove any idea that the government is to blame for rising fuel prices. According to the current condition, petrol prices are going very high.

It is unbearable if petrol is kept in stock then every Pakistani citizen will be worried. Due to the rising prices, many problems have to be faced in the future. This is a very good decision. If these mafias are brought under control, the situation can improve.
