Overview
After the Laptop distribution Scheme for students, Punjab government announced now electric bikes for university students. The announcement was made during a recent event held in Lahore by the Punjab Transport Department. The caretaker Punjab government Mohsin Naqvi has announced that the provincial government will give electric scooters with the collaboration of the Bank of Punjab (BOP). They have announced 10,000 electric bikes for students to appreciate the green environment technology.
Earlier we received an announcement that the Punjab government gave an electric rickshaws production license to Sazgar which was a significant move toward electric vehicle production. Government involvement in EV production will appreciate automakers and improve EV production structure.
Electric Bikes Without Interest
The government has announced other significant announcements regarding e-bike purchases without interest.
- Interest-free 10,000 electric bikes for students.
- 2,000 interest-free electric rickshaws for handicapped persons
- 2,000 electric bikes for working women at free-interest
- For the public- 10,000 interest-free electric rickshaws
- 2000 e-bikes for government employees at zero interest
They have also announced that government departments will now buy e-bikes for their employees. For the improvement of this change, they will establish charging stations at government-run parking. For smooth e-bikes to run electric stations are necessary.

The step of the caretaker government concerning electric motorbikes and rickshaw production will increase their value and push automakers to increase the number of EV units. To make EV manufacturing fast and smooth government involvement and hard work are crucial requirements.

The only solution is to convert petrol vehicles to electric vehicles.
