Pakistan is becoming an emerging automobile market nowadays. Many auto manufacturers have entered the market and many new auto manufacturers are trying to add their share in this market.

Recently Al-Haj Proton has taken a very important step towards a positive contribution to Pakistan Automobile Market. They have inaugurated their local manufacturing unit for Proton in Karachi.

Recent reports have confirmed that the Malaysian Brand has already imported the final batch is completely built-up units (CBU) form. It is also confirmed that the company has already started the production of Proton Saga commercially in Pakistan and they will start importing CBU chips in December 2021 and will also import CKD units in Pakistan for local assembling.

The company is struggling hard to be placed in the Pakistan market but initially, they haven’t made such progress as what it should be because there was a major lockdown in Malaysia due to Covid-19 and the whole production line was stopped, that’s why the company could not stand in its initial days. As of now, the lockdown has finished in Malaysia that’s why the company has planned to import CKD and CBU units in Pakistan.

Another issue behind the slow progress was the shortage of raw materials and chips.  Although there is a slow start of Proton in Pakistan if we compare the features of these vehicles with the price then it seems to be a low-priced vehicle. Because other automakers are not giving such features at these lower prices that’s why Proton is still in the hearts of people. Hopefully, it will grow faster and will grab the market faster as soon the production and supply will come in the line and routine.
