Overview
Proton took a step to increase car prices almost after one year. Last time, Proton car prices decrease in August 2022 and it’s the first price revision in a year. Where the automakers stepping triple price increase in a month Proton constantly provides cars at the same prices for one year almost.
The change in prices taken due to the new kits Proton has imported from Malaysia. A couple of weeks ago Proton removed the price tags of Saga and X70 from its website. Probably they are waiting for the kits from Malaysia. And today they announced prices as per the cost of the kit for these models.
Its to remind you that the Budget 2023-24 has announced significant changes in taxes and all imported car parts consider in the same term of customs duty which is 35%.
New Proton Car Prices
The recent notification has been issued with a price jack-up of up to Rs. 21 Lacs. Here are the updated prices announced by Proton.
Saga New Price
Proton Saga is available in three different variants and all get new prices for customers.
Proton Saga Ace now cost you Rs. 4,099,000 compared to the last price of Rs. 3,149,000. Its price increased by Rs. 950,000.
Similarly, the Proton Saga Standard AT price increased by Rs. 650,000. It means the price is changed from Rs. 3,299,000 to Rs. 3,949,000.
The basic variant Proton Saga MT’s new price is Rs. 3,749,000 instead of Rs. 2,824,000. Its price increased by Rs. 925,000.
Proton X70 New Price
Proton X70 both variants saw a huge jump in price. The price of X70 FWD Premium increased by Rs. 2,109,000. Now it cost Rs. 9,299,000 compared to the old rate Rs. 7,190,000.
Meanwhile, the Proton X70 AWD Executive price increased by Rs. 2,059,000. After a jump price changed from Rs 6,740,000 to Rs. 8,799,000.

The delivery amount would be final and charged to the customer at the time of delivery.
Freight and insurance charges are not included in the car price and charge separately.
The delivery of the vehicle is only possible after receiving the 100% amount through Pay Order/D.D of M/S Al-Haj Automotive (Pvt.) Limited A/C Customer Name, along with original Pay Order.
Conclusion
The reason behind the price hike is clear. Proton forced to increase prices due to the unstable economic situation, high taxes, and customs. The devaluation of the rupee value is another crying part of the price increase. The new kits are supposed to be very expensive and increase the cost of production. The price of X70 saw a huge jump at one time which seems the kit of this model become very expensive for the company.
