Another price hike expected in Toyota Hilux Revo and ISUZU D-MAX. The budget announcement is near to announce and like the previous year, this year’s prices of heavy vehicles may be increased.
In the budget 2019 government has imposed a 7.5 FED tax on locally manufactured double cabin commercial vehicles and 25% has been on imported 2 cabin vehicles.
Federal Minister of industries and Production Hammad Azhar said during his budget speech the use of commercial vehicles for transportation is very good but in Pakistan people are using these vehicles for show-off.
According to the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) reported that only 3 ISUZU D-Max sold in May 2020 and last year May 2020 70 D-Max was sold. On the other side 72, Hilux Revo sold in May 2020 and 468 Revo was sold in May 2019. The sale is decline due to the COVID-19 lockdown. In April, there is no sale of vehicles in Pakistan and this is the first time in history. In Pakistan price hike expected when the government imposed new taxes or dollar strength increased.
Moreover, recently ISUZU launched the facelift of D-Max in which the company has updated the style and features for the new generation. The updated facelift model offers new headlamps and LED DRLs and the new model gets 18-inch alloy rims. The price of the facelift model is higher than the previous one.
The new budget will affect the prices of vehicles. Recently Honda and Toyota increased the prices of its vehicles after increasing the dollar strength in the international market.
