Overview
The storm of car prices has started. After KIA Lucky Motors now Peugeot 2008 price increased by affected 25% GST. Under SRO 297(1)/2023, the Federal Board of Revenue imposed a new tax with a ratio of 25%. Under the new tax summary 1400cc and above cars are considered. Peugeot 2008 is a mid-size petrol engine crossover available in Pakistan in two different variants.
It is pertinent to mention here, this tax slab includes all locally assembled 1400cc and above cars or assembled SUVs and CUVs, even less than 1400cc engine displacements were also added. This is why Peugeot 2008 price jumped.
Peugeot 2008 Price
The new jump in General Sales Tax (GST) affected both variants of Peugeot and here are the prices after 25% GST
- After 25% GST Peugeot 2008 Active Variant’s price jumped by Rs.390,000 and now it cost you Rs. 6,840,000 compared to Rs. 6,450,000.
- Peugeot 2008 Allure is now available for Rs. 7,580,000 after an increase of Rs. 430,000. Before 25% GST, its price was Rs. 7,150,000.
Conclusion
One by one car makers announce a new jump in car prices. KIA and Peugeot have done their part of the price hike. The new jump has made car purchases more away from customers. Customers have already rejected the previous price hike of change in 1% GST. Suzuki and Toyota announced a huge decrease in car sales compared to the previous months.
