Once again the capital city of Punjab is encountering the shortage of fuel. Fuel is available at few selected fuel pumps around the city.

Long queues were seen at the fuel pumps which are still selling. According to a rough estimation, more than half of fuel pumps all the way through Lahore stayed close. Fuel pump owners are putting the blameworthiness on marketing companies uttering that there was already news of fuel supply thinning out but these marketing companies didn’t take any measures to restrain the crisis.

Lahoris use around 3,000,000 liters of petrol on the daily basis while only 1.3 to 1.4 million liters was supplied on Wednesday, 20th September 2017. Those pumps that are selling the fuel have put a cap of Rs500 for cars, and Rs100 for bikes.

But bearing in mind many petrol stations are mixed up in scamming their customers, there is a high chance you are not getting full Rs100 worth of fuel.
This can be a most important difficulty if not sorted in time. The livelihood of residents of Lahore depends on the supply of petrol in Lahore. The major cause this short supply is the difference over fuel price among government and oil distributing companies. Oil distributing companies want the government to lift fuel prices but the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Commerce has declined to understand their demand.

The concerned organizations, private or governmental, must take this problem seriously and solve it on abrupt basis. The import of fuel has also dropped and will start to hurt other Pakistani metropolitans as well.
