At the beginning of the New Year 2018, the government has hiked up the fuel prices on Sunday, rising the petrol price from Rs 77.47 to Rs 81.53 per liter. The price of high speed diesel has also been greater than before from Rs 85.95 per liter to 89.91 per liter. Light speed diesel is now obtainable at Rs 58.37 per liter from Rs 52.12 per liter.

The price of superior kerosene oil has been rised to Rs 62.30 per liter from Rs 57.58 and these new prices are effective from 1st January, 2018.
The adviser to the prime minister on finance, Dr Miftah Ismail, revenue and economic affairs, said the premier had agreed to the price hike on the OGRA’s recommendation.

He further added that oil prices were boosting up in the international market. Though, he added that the fuel prices in Pakistan were still lower than those of in India, Bangladesh and Turkey.
