Pakistan’s EV Policy Edited With The Meeting of Stakeholders

Pakistan’s First EV policy critics by the significant stakeholders of Pakistan auto sector. Recently Federal Govt approved Pakistan’s first electric vehicle policy but now the ministry has edited the electric vehicle policy with the collaboration of stakeholders. The meeting was held by Abdul Razzaq Dawood the advisor of Prime Ministry of Industries & Production, Commerce, Textile and Investment with Auto Industry Development Committee (AIDC). In this meeting, the ministry discusses the electric vehicle production in Pakistan and edited the EV policy with the help of the Engineering Development Board (EDB) and the Ministry of Industries and Production (MoIP).

All other stakeholders of Pakistan also attended this meeting because the previous EV policy is criticized by the stakeholders. This meeting was held on Thursday in this meeting Pakistan Association of Auto Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM), Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) was also present in this meeting. Ministry invited all the stakeholders to edit the EV Policy and present it to the Ministry of Industries and Production and Engineering Development Board.

Furthermore, the chairman of this meeting Abdul Razzaq Dawood stated that this electric vehicle policy is the domain of the Ministry of Industries and Production. He also said that this edited policy will present to the Ministry of Industries and Production and Engineering Development Board for approval. The stakeholders have agreed with him that now the EV policy is handled by the technical organization.

In this meeting, the Engineering Development Board asks for the EV Policy proposal to the stakeholders as soon as possible. The main focus of stakeholders in this meeting on the investment and generate employment, increase revenue and all other major aspects. The board of the meeting assures the stakeholders that this EV policy will open the ways of investment and fulfill all the requirements of the auto sector including investment and increase revenue.

Moreover EBD chairman thankful to the advisor to hold this meeting and invite us to give our opinion about the Pakistan EV Policy. He assured that the edited policy will be presenting soon to the EDB with the collaboration of all stakeholders. This was the 30th EV Policy held and make sure this time we will give a final EV Policy for implementation.
