As we know last year’s tragedy was very sorrow full. 22 people died from frozen due to a snowstorm in Murree.
It all happened with the ignorance of local high authorities as they didn’t bother that 13000 vehicles entered Murree, which has a capacity maximum of 4500.
In this winter season again tourists are ready to move towards Northern areas. This place is near to everyone so when snow falling starts most of the people go for enjoyment.
Punjab’s Relief Commissioner
But after last year’s tragedy, everyone can enjoy themselves easily without any hassle so, Naveed Haider Sherazi, Punjab’s Relief Commissioner, has agreed to allow a fixed number of cars which counts 8000 in the hill station during snowfall. All roads and hill stations will be monitored by CCTV cameras.
During a recent meeting, the decision was made to review. The plans were made to guarantee that normal life is not disrupted during snowfall. The conference was attended by DG PDMA, Secretary Revenue, DC Murree, and Rescue 1122 authorities.
Naveed Haider Sherazi stated during the conference, it was resolved that the chain mafia that defrauds money from unsuspecting visitors will face harsh punishment.
In the city, 13 Tourist Facilitation Centers have been established. He directed that no officers be transferred or posted in Murree during the snow season and that people should phone 1129 in case of an emergency.
