For almost seven years now ever since its inception back in March of 2011,the ageing Lamborghini Aventador has been moving on the supercar scene. Throughout that time, Lamborghini has revealed many special editions counting the likes of the Aventador SV and the Aventador Muria Edition. The Italian company also lately went through a bit of facelift with the Aventador S where it had minor cosmetic nips and a slight power boosts.
However now is the time where we can look forward to the replacement prototypes for the Aventador as they will start hitting the road. But a topic of argument for the next replacement of the Aventador has been whether or not the intense bull will keep its gigantic thirsty V12 naturally aspirated motor or goes for cutting back with the aid of turbochargers. It appears that it may be none of those and Lamborghini may in fact look to source electric motors for its new hypercar flagship.
As per to a source, the Italian supercar brand’s R&D director, Maurizio Reggiani utter that the flagship will certainly retain its naturally aspirated V12 however will work in tandem with a set of electric motors to push out a rumoured power output of over 1000bhp. In short, the substitute for the Aventador is for now predictable to be a 1000bhp hybrid. However what about the other shortcomings of the Aventador for example its infamous single clutch gearbox? We can also be expecting to see the new ALA (Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva) system on the new Aventador, a system which lend a hand to the 640bhp Lamborghini Huracan to beat out the near 1000bhp Porsche 918 Spyder around the Nurburgring. We can look forward to see the new V12 flagship from Lamborghini before 2020 comes to an end.
