Earlier this month,Toyota Indus Motors dealerships are shaken down money from new car buyers in the name of prepaid periodic maintenance in addition to extended warranty. Mutually both are elective packages, and there is completely no compulsion to buy these packages at time you are booking a new Toyota Corolla.
A lot of discontented new Corolla car buyers not only protesting against Toyota Indus Motors about this extortion but also disapproved to rivalry Commission of Pakistan. Afterward, Toyota stopped putting up a post on their website creating it obvious that these packages are elective and you do not need to decide on for them when booking a new vehicle from any of their dealerships. Other than one can disagree that Toyota Pakistan made it happen like casual and didn’t ask for forgiveness for the deeds of its dealerships.
National Accountability Bureau NAB seems like it has taken this issue in its hands so far. The Executive Board (EB) of National Accountability Bureau had a meeting with Chairman NAB, Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry at NAB Headquarters talking about a variety of agendas on the topic of inquiries, references, and investigations. And in the middle of those agendas, the committee resoluted to approve an investigation in opposition to Indus Motor Company dealerships who have victimized a lot of buyers. The NAB press release states,
“Second inquiry was authorized against dealers of Indus Motor Company Limited at Hyderabad/Karachi. In this case, the accused persons were alleged for cheating public at large by misappropriating million of rupees from general public in lieu of booking of Toyota vehicles. Thus caused a loss of Rs. 250/- million to the general public.”
