Lamborghini has produced the first version of its first hyper SUV, the Urus at their new plant in Italy. The Urus will go into production in 2018. The fastest SUV in the world is predictable to multiply the company’s production. Lamborghini Urus was first debuted as a concept car in 2012.
The Urus is motorized by a 650-hp 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which is Lamborghini’s first V8 in almost 30 years, and their first turbocharged engine ever. This engine presents 627 lb-ft of torque, and its two turbochargers are mounted in the “V” for better throttle response.
Lamborghini opted for a turbo V8 for the Urus to offer more low-end torque particularly for off-roading. The Lamborghini Urus will strike 305km/h flat-out and can reach 0-100km/h in just 3.6 seconds.
With lightweight carbon fiber framework, an adjustable air suspension system and all-wheel-steering, the Urus was produced to distribute high performance on a wide variety of surfaces. It’s operational with six different driving modes designated Strada, Sport, Corsa, Sabbia, Terra and Neve, which interpret to Street, Sport, Track, Sand, Land (Off-Road) and Snow.
The Urus will begin to start up the assembly line early next year at a new high-tech production facility in Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata Bolognese home that features the uppermost level of automation the automaker has ever used. By 2019, Lamborghini looks forward to to build 3500 Urus per year.
