Finally, the government of Pakistan has opened Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway for the general public from 1st April 2019. The main purpose to open this motorway is to reduce the traffic distance and make an easier way for traveling to Lahore to Multan. The Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar inaugurated this motorway on 31 March 2019. this new step of Government will help the public to reduce the time of traveling for Lahore to Multan.

The total cost that spends on this project is around 149 billion. This motorway is six-lane with eight interchanges over 40 bridges and 60 underpasses, three service station, etc. For this newly opened motorway speed assigned is 120Km/h and Intelligent Transport System (ITS) has been installed on this new section. All the security system have been placed on this M3 LED screens, weight system, electronic toll collection, and the camera have installed on this motorway to monitor all the vehicle.
