Japanese government has intended to lend a hand in building up the Pakistani automotive industry plus improving the exports as said by foreign envoy said on Thursday.
As said by Ambassador of Japan Takashi Kurai “The Japanese government has intended to support the government of Pakistan in export promotion, upgrading of security through the provision of security equipment at the airports and expansion of automobile industry,”
As per to a government statement, Kurai called on the Minister of State for Finance Rana Afzal Khan .Japanese car assemblers, Suzuki, Honda and Toyota lead the auto sector, however the market dynamics are varying following the introduction of new auto policy which is quite supportive new entrants.
Foreign and local ventures are placing new plants in order to meet the increasing demand of cars, sales of which raised by 20 percent to more than 100,000 units in the first half of the current fiscal year of 2017/18.
The minister utter that Pakistan greatly values its relationship with Japan. “Economic cooperation between the two countries would be brought to a much higher level with the passage of time.”
