Here is the surprising news about the Honda Atlas. Japanese-based Honda has been developing vehicle designs that look to be heavily influenced by Changan automobiles. It began in April 2021 with the release of HR-V which was strikingly similar to the Changan UNI-K crossover. Is it true or not?
Honda mimicking changan:
Chinese automakers were once known for openly mimicking world-famous car designs in automobile manufacturing. However, imagine if any Japanese manufacturer started copying Chinese designs currently. This just seems like the darkest nightmare.
As per resources, Honda has recently moved ahead with vehicle designs that appear to be heavily influenced by Changan vehicles. Dongfeng-Honda is producing the new CR-V, and Honda also has a joint venture in China named Guangzhou-Honda, or simply GAC-Honda.
Honda HR-V 2021:
The company has released the honda HR-V in 2021. The rear-end was much more resemble the Changan UNI-K crossover that was introduced in 2020. Besides the rear end, there are a lot of similarities in the front end including the elaborate grille. When the HR-V Modulo X was released, it appeared to be a blatant replica of Changan’s iconic “Butterfly Grille” design, making the HR-V look like a Changan.
According to the photos, the front of the new Honda CR-V is hugely affected by the Changan Oshan X7 Plus, which was just released in Pakistan. The front, with matching headlamps, grille, and even creases on the bonnet, appears to be a clear similar to the Changan Oshan X7.
Is it a coincidence?
It’s easy to dismiss the similarities between the new Honda HR-V and the Changan UNI-K as a coincidence. The recent photographs of the new CR-V released by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) suggest that it’s no longer a coincidence. Moreover, every new automobile sold in China must go through MIIT’s homologation procedure, so photographs are posted on their website before vehicles are released to the public. Whether you believe it or not, Honda is mimicking Changan’s designs.
