The makers of Toyota cars in Pakistan ,Indus Motors Company (IMC) has determined to increase their existing plants with a capital investment of $40 million, in order to lend a hand in increasing the production of vehicles by approximately 10,000 units per annum.

Presently ,Indus Motors Company’s (IMC) debottlenecking activity that is in process is happening smoothly, subsequent to which it is predictable that approximately 10,000 units will be added to its present stated capacity of 54,800 units.

The company’s management anticipates that its recent drive to set aside the buyers who purchase its vehicles to sell them at a profit (“own money”) ,should not have any noteworthy negative impact given strong demand growth from genuine buyers.
The sales of Fortuner SUV are expected to carry on the current momentum in the forward direction, provided that it has so far established a very positive response from customers. Senior management considers that the growth in Fortuner sales is a sign of:

- Prado customers choosing for Fortuner because of better-perceived features.
- Customers normally in the market for Rs 3.5 million to Rs 4.0 million cars are diverging for additional cash for Fortuner.

Whereas the company admits that talks about the possibility to replace lower-end Corolla variants, confirmation/finalization regarding such news is still pending. Furthermore, the excerpts utter that the growth is predictable to be in double-cabin Revo sales, a few months before elections. Also IMC has again denied the possibility of introducing a Daihatsu brand vehicle in Pakistan.
