Overview
In the global market, the vehicle needs to pass New Car Assessment Programs (NACPs). There are several NCAPs to test the vehicle safety system ASEAN NCAP, Euro NCAP, Latin NCAP, and Global NCAP. Now, India working on introducing “Bharat NCAP” to test the safety program of all locally manufactured cars. The vehicles that have passes the NCAP test are reliable for freely driving on road. NCAP is a very difficult testing process. NCAP gives the rating to the vehicle according to its performance and this is a very hard safety test. However, NCAP testing is very important for a vehicle, especially for 8 to above passenger vehicles. This new step of the vehicle safety testing program will help to reduce the accident ratio that increasing in the country.

Bharat NCAP Program
As per the words of India’s Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Bharat NCAP will be according to Global and Europe NCAPs. The new safety rating program is recognized to test vehicles and assign ratings according to performance. This program will help to check the safety standard of cars and help to improve safety functions. Every year over 150,000 road accidents are caused in India. We have a plan to reduce 50% road accidents by 2025.
Furthermore, the Indian government has made some safety functions mandatory for all Indian vehicles. It is pertinent to mention that the government has given the deadline of 2022 end to automakers to ensure the below-mentioned safety features in all cars. However, they asked for more time but no approval confirmation from the government. Here are the mandatory safety features assign by the India government for all vehicles:
- The vehicle can carry up to 8 passengers must have at least six airbags
- Three-point seat belts
- The automatic emergency braking system
These new steps will help the government air to reduce the accidents ratio in the country and ensure safety.

What Is The Global NCAP Rules
Global NCAP pass the vehicle after several crash tests. The evaluation of safety features isn’t an easy process. The test rating depends on four levels:
- Adult Occupant Protection
- Child Occupant Protection
- Pedestrian Protection
- Safety Assist System
According to the news, Bharat NCAP will follow the global safety testing system. Many local manufactured cars do not offer safety assist features. The lack of safety features cause to increase in the death in a road accident.

Conclusion
India has gone up the standard of vehicles. For this purpose, the government has made a new standard for safety testing programs. The increasing death ratio by road accidents is not a good sign. The test rating program encourages vehicle safety functions availability. The Bharat NCAP program will be on board very soon and the government will cover the unusual vehicle manufacturing activities.
