Bharat NCAP Program

As per the words of India’s Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Bharat NCAP will be according to Global and Europe NCAPs. The new safety rating program is recognized to test vehicles and assign ratings according to performance. This program will help to check the safety standard of cars and help to improve safety functions. Every year over 150,000 road accidents are caused in India. We have a plan to reduce 50% road accidents by 2025.

Furthermore, the Indian government has made some safety functions mandatory for all Indian vehicles. It is pertinent to mention that the government has given the deadline of 2022 end to automakers to ensure the below-mentioned safety features in all cars. However, they asked for more time but no approval confirmation from the government. Here are the mandatory safety features assign by the India government for all vehicles:

  • Child Occupant Protection
  • Pedestrian Protection

According to the news, Bharat NCAP will follow the global safety testing system. Many local manufactured cars do not offer safety assist features. The lack of safety features cause to increase in the death in a road accident.
