In Pakistan, Honda City has long dominated the B-segment sedan market. However, when the Toyota Yaris was released in 2020, and Honda was still selling the 5th Generation City in the nation.
For a year, the Toyota Yaris reigned supreme as Pakistan’s best-selling car. But the older 11th-generation Toyota Corolla reclaimed its title.
Toyota Yaris Market Situation
Despite the fact that Corolla sales have been reduced in half since the introduction of the Yaris, and 1.3L Corolla models have been withdrawn in favor of the B-segment offering, the C-segment Toyota Corolla remains the country’s best-selling car.
Toyota Corolla is popular for long travels because to its reliability and performance. Toyota Indus Motors has replaced the Toyota Corolla with the Yaris.
But at the start of 2020 when Toyota Yaris has been released. Most people liked it but when they move on to Toyota Yaris from the corolla user feedback is not satisfactory.
In the calendar year 2022, the sixth-generation Honda City outsold the Toyota Yaris by 19,860 units, averaging 1,655 units each month.
The Toyota Yaris, on the other hand, sold 15,507 units in 2022, with a monthly average of 1,292 units. As a response, Honda City sales beat Toyota by 28%.
During its peak, the Yaris sold approximately 2,900 vehicles per month, outselling the Civic and City combined. Yaris sales have dropped by 55%, according to the latest current figures.
