The import of used cars in Pakistan has once again increased day by day. some valid resources told us that Pakistan has imported approximately 20,000 used cars during the last eight months of the financial year 2021 to 2022. Here in this article, we will look at the total number of used cars that have been imported in the last couple of years.
Annual Imported Used Cars:
From July 2021 to February 2022 Pakistan has imported 4,000 units of the economy hatchbacks among the 20,000+ used automobiles. These hatchback units are including Daihatsu Mira, Nisan Dayz, Suzuki Alto, and many others. These accounted for 21% of total imports of used cars in the fiscal year 2022.
Out of 20,000+, around 7,000 units of small segments cars were brought into Pakistan in different ways in FY2022. Small segment cars were included Toyota Vitz, Toyota Passo, Toyota Aqua, etc. which made up 35% of total used cars.
Out of the total number of imported cars in the fiscal year 2022, 2,874 SUVs, 82 small buses, and 2,863 other used vehicles were imported into the country.
However, in February total number of 150 BMW, Mercedes Bens, Audi, Suzuki, and other CBUs units have also been brought into Pakistan.
2019-20 used cars imported:
The year 2019 saw the highest number of used imported vehicles, with more than 36,000 units imported. Then the government subjected limitations on the unregistered payment route. Consequently, in 2020 just 10,000 used automobiles have been imported into the country. After a year of decline, used car imports accelerated, with more than 21,000 units imported in 2021. At the same time, imports of new vehicles reached an all-time high in Financial Year 2021.
