Kia and Hyundai are the two of safest-car-manufacturers who are known for their risk taking abilities in adopting new technologies that have not been tried yet. So, it wouldn’t come as a bombshell that both the companies have put forward statements saying that their cars releasing in 2019 will be featuring AI Voice Assistants. Also every vehicle produced by the company will be “connected” by 2025. Hyundai uttered that it has teamed up with SoundHound to build up an IPA (Intelligent Personal Agent) based on Houndify. Hyundai said that this IPA will be competent of making proactive tellings like reminding you of your schedule, plus remotely controlling your car and your home.

You could say that this isn’t something that hasn’t been tried earlier and a lot of other cars have AI helpers. However, Hyundai and Kia are taking one step ahead of the level of those AI helpers by bringing in multiple-command recognition support. Multiple-command recognition is what makes an AI assistant additional humanely. You must have frequently made the error of asking your AI helper to do two things in the same sentence, (for example, asking for weather updates and to turn up the volume of the radio) and found your IPA getting all confused .

Multiple-command recognition isn’t a technology to the extent that it is a healthy software algorithm, that will permit an AI entity to be familiar with more than one commands within only a single input sentence. This one may seem like a very ordinary and worthless difference, but the existing problem frustrates users beyond mind’s eye, which is why the IT world is so enthusiastic on developing the solution. This is also a cause why Hyundai and Kia thought it was a news-worthy decision for their customers.
