Overview
The announcement of a 25% GST increases on luxury items including 1400cc and above cars affected the price of cars. Hyundai car prices jack up at a huge surplus after the 25% GST.
However, the Federal Board of Revenue mentioned the tax is for 1400cc and above locally assembled or assembled SUVs and CUVs but it is affected on below 1400cc cars also. The tax category affected the cars we are not expected to include in the new tax slab.
Toyota, KIA, Peugeot, Haval, and BAIC have passed their part of the price jump and now Hyundai announced a new jump in its car prices. The new tax slab affected sedans and make the buying of cars more difficult for customers at new rates.

New Price of Elantra
Hyundai Elantra is available in two variants, and both are considered under the SRO 297(1)/23.
- Hyundai Elantra 1.6 had a price of Rs. 5,849,000 but now it cost you Rs. 6,199,000.
- Meanwhile, Hyundai Elantra 2.0 new price is Rs. 6,730,000 instead of Rs. 6,349,000.
Sonata New Price After 25% GST
- Hyundai Sonata 2.0L reached to Rs. 9,679,000 after the 25% General Sales Tax (GST). Observing a change of Rs. 550,000 in the old rate of Rs. 9,129,000.
- Similarly, Hyundai Sonata 2.5L used to cost Rs. 9,939,000 but the new price is Rs. 10,530,000.
Hyundai Tucson Updated Price
- Hyundai Tucson FWD a few days before available for Rs. 7,569,000 and now its cost Rs. 8,030,000.
- However, Hyundai Tucson AWD now cost you Rs. 8,659,000 compared to the old rate of Rs, 8,169,000.
Conclusion
There is no need to mention the reason because all we know the new taxes are the cause of this huge price jump. SUVs and CUVs are already available at the high price tag and now sedans are also considered to not easy purchase in Pakistan.
