Occasionally regular driving can get its charge in the form of back pain, muscle tension, and stress. It is probable to avoid the strain by taking a few simple steps, which are as follows:

Mind Your Posture

It is of great significance that you take care of your position while in the car. It might give the impression like a no-brainer; nevertheless, the trick is to take care of your position right from the moment you get in. A wallet in the back pocket may come out to be undamaging in the beginning but this minor misalignment can lead to permanent damage to your spine.

Keep Your Back Straight

With the intention to avoid back pain and other linked issues, on no account ignore this thumb rule of sitting in a car: for all time sit up straight. While slumping or slouching feels comfy shortly, poor posture can consequence in muscle tension and cause disc-dislocation over time. Although it is advised to sit upright in spite of where you’re sitting but slumping in a car is more injurious because one is not entirely static in a moving car. There are a number of forces that a body feels such as acceleration, jerks, swaying etc. Mutually these forces and poor posture can cause spinal discs to lose their elasticity necessary to take up shock and offer a cushion to the vertebrae.

Distance between Body and Steering Wheel

One sure way to lessen pressure on your neck muscles, lumbar spine, shoulders and even wrists is to uphold an optimum distance among your body and steering wheel. If you sense like you’re reaching for the wheel, pull your seat a few degrees nearer to it until the tension in your muscles releases, and vice versa.

Use a Cushion For Support

Car seats are typically designed to hold up and soothe to your back but adding a cushion provides further lumbar support. There are dedicated cushions for car seats and chairs available in the market, on the other hand, if you do not have or cannot have the funds for one, a simple would also do. Another trick, if you do not have any cushion at all, is to roll up a scarf or a piece of cloth and place it in the gap between the seat and the small of your back. The idea is to add support to this area so as to stop your tailbone from bearing all your weight.
