Once more Honda Pakistan has made the Honda owners become aware of airbag replacement awareness campaign. This is limited to a few of the Honda models as they are to be brought in for airbag replacement. The same ad was run a few months back in March and April of 2017 in which they asked the owners to bring in their cars for an airbag replacement. The models included:
- Honda Civic (Model 2006-12)
Honda C-RV (Model 2008-11)
- Honda Accord (Model 2004-12)

Last week the below mentioned advertisement was put into the newspaper.

If you want to observe that your car might be having the defected airbag inflator, then it’s better to take it to an authorized Honda workshop for thorough inspection. If you are too curious to know right now, you can just check on the website as well. If your car comes out to be having the Takata airbags, they will be replaced free of cost.
In the past couple of weeks, Honda’s campaign over a so called “free upgrade “service was criticized by people as it was not righteous. But this time Honda is right here. The safety comes first because a defected airbag can result in severe injuries and even death. We all should be grateful to Honda for taking action of this very critical issue.

The Takata problem caught attention back in 2014 after death of a Californian woman who died as soon as her 2005 Honda Accord shot out “hot metal and plastic shrapnel” subsequent to a low-speed collision. This caused the driver with severe burns on her arms and legs.Takata was taken in action legally and was filed for bankruptcy in June 2017.

It is to be mentioned here that Honda is not the only one to have used Takata airbags; other companies that used include Nissan, Toyota, Ford, Mazda, and Chrysler. So if you own the above mentioned models, please have your airbags checked and replaced after a thorough inspection from Honda.
