Indus Motor Company (IMC) is on the edge of bringing in the Toyota Fortuner Diesel in Pakistan. The Fortuner has been around for fairly some time now since IMC has been manufacturing the first generation of SUV from 2013 but in December 2016 it launched the second (current) generation.
At present the Fortuner comes equipped with a 2.7 liter 2TR-FE petrol engine in Pakistan, nevertheless IMC will now be initiate the 2.8 liter 1GD-FTV engine. whereas both the engines are alike in terms of horsepower, it is the torque that makes a significant variation as the diesel version stirs up a stunning 420nm of torque compared to just 240nm of the petrol variant. The fuel economy of the diesel version is rated at 12km/l as evaluated with 8km/liter of the petrol version.
Furthermore it won’t just be a transformation in the engine as IMC will be presenting a multitude of new features with the 2018 Fortuner. Exterior wise the alterations are minimal as the new Fortuner will get silver colored side step covers in place of black, LED fog lamps rather than halogen units, side mirrors will come entrenched with welcome lamp whereas the addition of smart entry system will be a huge bonus.
Interior will stay largely the same, on the other hand it will now have engine start/stop button, door courtesy lamps on all 4 doors, Vehicle Stability Control, Down-hill Assist Control, different Speedometer lights and most prominently the Power Back Door.
These add-ons are going to make the Fortuner an even striking package for the SUV lovers. IMC is yet to expose the official prices of the new Fortuner Diesel whereas formal launch of the vehicle is predictable towards the end of this month.
