Cheap petrol is a top talk after the government has announced to provide an Rs. 50/liter petrol subsidy for motorcycles, rickshaws, and cars up to 800cc engine. The government has announced the subsidy will be provided through the proper system and the government will fetch data from Nadra. As per the cheap petrol subsidy plan the government will only consider low-income employees. But today’s news is different, International Monetary Fund (IMF) claims that Pakistan had not consulted with them regarding the petrol subsidy. Now the current Petrol prices in Pakistan is still same.
It’s pertinent to mention here, that Islamabad is currently in the process with IMF to release the next loan installment.
Cheap petrol Scheme Hold?
The cheap petrol scheme’s different twinkles have come. Today a news channel reported that the government is making delays in petrol subsidies. The report cited the finance ministry source and claim the subsidy decision will be confirm after consulting with IMF. Moreover, it is stated that the finance ministry would further work and implementing the scheme: so, it’s being delayed.

Dr.Musadik Malik has denied this report and stated that IMF cannot make an objection to this scheme as it is not a subsidy.
Conclusion
The government has decided to make petrol expensive for the rich and cheap for low-income employees. The denied action by Musadik Malik confirmed the government has n attention to the delay in the petrol subsidy scheme and it will work according to the system they have already announced. Petrol scheme will be implanting according to the six-weeks scheme process. But six-week is a long time, anything can be change.
