We know all the professional drivers do have their own driving talent and proficiency that they want to use, but skipping gear is a little you have to be further cautious about. The magnificence of manual transmission is that you can without any complexity switch and skip gears with-in the up and downshifts, devoid of much of an effort. On the other hand, there is a right and a wrong way of doing the shifting, as you wouldn’t want to risk your car’s engine. Conversely, we don’t want to dishearten you from doing the action, it’s just to make it smoother.

Manual Transmission

A manual transmission is also recognized as a manual gearbox, stick shift, or simply MT. The manual transmission is fairly straightforward. The gearbox is mated to the engine (crankshaft), and you have your flywheel and clutch plate linking as a mating point. Pressing the clutch pedal releases the transmission, creating it free wheel. It means engine and transmission are free from each other now. And now you can decide the gear you desire to engage.

Rev-matching Technique

A Rev matching is used when you are downshifting to obtain an even transition among the gears of your car. This is also supportive in putting off shock loads in the path of the transmission. It’s a very helpful for not only the race car drivers but also for your daily driving. The rev-matching technique also takes care of:

  1. Stress reduction on the driveline
  2. Stopping frontward weight-transfers while down shifting
  3. It cuts engine braking and likelihoods of wheel lock

Gear Shifting Trick

As, for starters, skipping can be fun, and yes may require a few actions around it. You can concurrently up shift one or as a matter of fact, two gears at a time, while skipping. This is safe, reasonably. As said by trick-bar of shifting, you want to let go of clutch more gradually than your regular use. This unhurried process will let the speed of your engine and transmission to match. That’s also significant as you wouldn’t be  happy to get your car to trembling .
