The situation appears to be that fuel shortages plague major cities in Punjab such as Lahore, Gujranwala, and Faisalabad. Here some fuel outlets have either no or a small supply of petrol for several days. Apparently because of a constrained supply from the oil marketing corporations (OMCs).
A number of fuel stations in Punjab’s major and small cities are experiencing significant petrol shortages. It is causing motorists to wait in lengthy lines at petrol stations to purchase the supply.
“In Lahore, almost 70 of the 450 pumps are dry.”The pumps in Shahdra, Wagah, Litton Road and Jain Mandar are blocked because there is a shortage of petrol.” Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association secretary information Khawaja Atif informed the media.
In terms of other cities, he stated that in Gujranwala, almost 70% of the pumps lacked petrol because of OMC shortages. Furthermore, various fuel outlets in Faisalabad, Okara, Sahiwal, and other areas are surviving without fuel for many days.
Musadik Malik, the minister of state for petroleum, argued that there is no fuel crisis. Since there is enough gasoline and diesel on hand to last for the next 25 days and 20 days, respectively.
He stated on a live broadcast that if people restricting fuel are found, their licenses will be revoked.
