Overview
After the arrest of PTI’s Chairman, there is historic riots across Pakistan and this caused of major fuel shortage. Disturbance in fuel supply to Lahore and other cities occurs due to the ongoing strike across the country. Oil companies face hurdles to supply oil during this worse situation in the country.
Oil companies were already suffering huge losses due to the massive hike in petrol prices. The recent strike in Lahore and other cities has made the transportation more difficult. The shortage of fuel is not only the loss of oil companies but also rising concerns for business and routine work. There are multiple sectors connected in fuel in different terms. If fuel shortage happens different sectors performance will affect.
Fuel Shortage In Lahore and Other Cities
As per the report, petroleum dealers addressed that more than 50% of filling stations could run dry and it will rising concerns for citizens and businesses. The Petroleum Dealer Association’s Secretary General, Jahanzeb Malik cited that the supply suspension was a precaution due to the current strike across Pakistan. Moreover, due to the security concerns of our staff and customers, OMC has shut down supply.
If the shortage of fuel occurs it could affect daily commuting, business, and transport, including hospitals and other sectors mainly connected with fuel for running.
On the other side, the dollar price saw historic rises and PKR value depreciates worst. The overall business sectors across the country are not performing as usual and suffering a huge loss. Transport is only possible with fuel and shortage of fuel is an open warning for their business. Meanwhile, the rest of the sectors suffer in loss due to PKR depreciation day by day.
Conclusion
Law enforcement entities should take action on the current destruction situation of the country. As it makes a huge loss for the economy. The strike got worse after the arrestment of the PTI Chairman and their supporters said that it will continue until Khan will release. If there is no action will be taken the country will strive for massive disruption and economic loss.
